I woke up this morning to see that San Antonio has made National Geographic’s Best Trips 2018 list. Woo-hoo! We made the list with other outstanding cities in Australia, Sweden, Chile and Madagascar to name a few.
2018 is San Antonio’s 300th birthday! Although a mere baby when you take into account how long this planet has been around, we are still rich in history and culture. Join us throughout the year of our Tricentennial as we celebrate with over 550 art and cultural events. The big kick-off is going to be New Year’s Eve.
Visitors and locals are invited to attend the celebration of the century as San Antonio rings in its 300th anniversary year with a free outdoor concert staged in the heart of downtown, on the grounds of another historic moment in San Antonio history, HemisFair ’68, the 1968 World’s Fair. Roaming performers, interactive art installations, projections on buildings, imaginative lighting and festive decorations will occupy eight acres of festival grounds and spill into the streets of downtown. Delectable international fare will be offered in food courts outside the event site. Yanaguana Gardens will be fully activated with games, pop-up performances, and children’s food menu items for kids of all ages.
Take a tour with us and experience San Antonio like a local!
